In 1999 richtten Big John en Scotty The Saddle Tramps op. Aanvankelijk begonnen ze als komisch duo dat verkorte versies van hun originele liedjes waar ze geïmproviseerde stand-up comedy tussendoor deden. The Saddle Tramps kregen hun eerste optredens als band en voegde een drummer toe en uiteindelijk, in 2000, ook de go-go dansende bandiet Suzy Switchblade.

Vanaf dag één speelde The Saddle Tramps vooral in Reno en omstreken en op tournee om hun eerste drie CD’s te promoten. Hun strakke tourschema en werkethos leidde tot een contract bij Split Seven Records dankzij aanbevelingen van hun vrienden en voormalig label-collegae Speedbuggy en Hellbound Hayride. The Saddle Tramps brachten een live CD uit en een compilatie en namen daarna hun laatste CD op onder hun eigen label.

In de afgelopen 10 jaar heeft The Saddle Tramps ieder staat in de Verenigde Staten gespeeld ten westen van Houston (Texas) en op enkele legendarisch podia, waaronder The Derby in Hollywood, The Continental Club in Austin, The Tractor Tavern in Seattle, het Bahia Resort in San Diego en het Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas.

The Saddle Tramps hebben opgetreden tijdens evenementen als Entertainment Tonight’s 20^ste verjaardag in Hollywood, Dennis Hof’s verjaardag op de Moonlight Bunny Ranch, The National Tattoo Convention (3 keer al), The Blessing of The Cars en de APP Piercing Convention in het Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas.

Big John and Scotty formed the Saddle Tramps in 1999. They started out as a comedy duo playing in places like The Improve doing shortened versions of some of their original songs and interjecting with standup improv comedy. The band then got it’s first gigs as a band and added a drummer and eventually by 2000 the gun-slinging go-go dancer Suzy Switchblade.

From day one The Saddle Tramps played relentlessly in and around Reno as well as on the road to support their first 3 CDs. Their rigorous show schedule and work ethic got them signed to L.A. based Split Seven Records through the recommendations of friends and former label mates Speedbuggy and Hellbound Hayride. The Saddle Tramps released a full length live CD and a compilation through Split Seven and then moved on to record their latest CD under their own label Von Roller Records.

In the last 10 years the band has toured every state from Houston, Texas westward and has played some legendary rooms and stages to include The Derby in Hollywood, The Continental Club in Austin, Texas, The Tractor Tavern in Seattle, Washington, The Bahia Resort in San Diego, The Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas as well as set attendance records in the old Golden Phoenix and the Reno Hilton locally. The band has played such feature shows such as Entertainment Tonight’s 20th Anniversary Party in Hollywood, Dennis Hof’s Birthday party at The Moonlight Bunny Ranch, The National Tattoo Convention (twice and for the third time this spring), The Blessing of The Cars and The APP Piercing Convention at The Tropicana in Las Vegas.
