De in Amsterdam geboren Arthur Ebeling bouwde zijn eigen drumstel in de kinderopvang. Hij verruilde het drumstel voor een gitaar toen hij zes jaar oud was. Toen hij 16 was verliet hij school om een fulltime rock ’n roller te worden. En nog altijd bespeeld Arthur zijn gitaar als een maniak.

Arthur Ebeling speelde in bands als Sail, O.P.M.C., Group 1850, Rosa King, Capsones, B.B. (ex Henkie), Big Shot en De Dijk. In 1984 richtte hij de band Jump! Dickie Jump! op en maakte 2 albums: ‘Jump!’ (1985) en ‘Goin’ Out’ (1987). In 1990 werd hij solo artiest en speelde over de hele wereld, waaronder de Verenigde Staten, het Groot- Brittannië, Rusland, Brazilië, Spanje. Tot dusver heeft hij 4 albums gemaakt ‘Simple Man’ (1993), ‘Piggy Dog’ (1995), ‘Rainy Night in Paris’ (1998) en ‘Dreams’ (2002).

Arthur Ebeling staat in Nederland bekend als een van de beste rhythm ’n blues gitaristen en singer-songwriters. Arthur is een technisch begaaft gitarist in staat om diverse stijlen te combineren. Zijn muziek is een unieke, herkenbare, tijdloze en pakkende mix van rhythm ’n blues, rock ’n roll, counry-blues met een jazz sausje. Hij heeft de soul van een Ray Charles, het rauwe van Tom Waits en de rock ’n roll van Eddie Cochran.

Op Culemborg Blues zal Arthur Ebeling er staan als trio. Met dubbele bas, saxofoon en percussie. Wie het Arthur Ebeling trio hoort spelen, denkt dat ze direct uit New Orleans komen. Arthur’s unieke stijl en hoge kwaliteit van de teksten en composities heeft hem al eens een optreden opgeleverd in Vrije Geluiden van de VPRO.

Grewing up playing bands like: Sail, O.P.M.C., Group 1850, Rosa King, Capsones, B.B. (ex Henkie), Big Shot and De Dijk. Started his own band, Jump! Dickie Jump! in 1984 and made two albums: Jump! (Rockhouse 1985) and Goin' Out (Idiot Records 1987). Became a solo artist in 1990. Toured in the USA, UK, Russia, Brasil, Spain and other weird places. Made four solo albums so far: Simple Man (Dureco 1993), Piggy Dog (Dureco 1995), Rainy Night in Paris (Basta 1998), Dreams (Basta 2002).

Arthur Ebeling is known in Holland as one of the most authentic, awesome and all around rhythm 'n blues guitarists and singer-songwriters. Appreciated for his intricate and divers techniques, conveys an obvious love for his Gretsch-guitar, music and performing. Arthur takes his audience on a journey of unending surprise and delights. Arthur's music is an unique, recognizable, timeless and catching mix between rhythm 'n blues, rock 'n roll, country-blues - in a jazzy sauce. With Ray Charles he shares his soul, with Tom Waits his rawness and with Eddie Cochran his rock 'n roll.

At Culemborg Blues Arthur Ebeling will perform as trio. With double bass, sax and percussion. People who hear them play think they are from New Orleans. Arthur’s unique style and high quality of lyrics and compositions already was reason for the Dutch TV station VPRO to invite him on the music program “Vrije Geluiden”.
