In 2009 opende The Brew Culemborg Blues. De jongelingen uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk spelen direct de Markt vol. Is dat werkelijk die jonge vent die zo zingt en gitaar speelt? Het is alsof er een doorgewinterde muzikant staat. Het publiek laat zich verbazen en geniet. Hun terugkomst is derhalve onvermijdelijk. Nu het nog kan, want in het tempo waarin The Brew zich ontwikkelt, is de kans groot dat The Brew te groot wordt voor de binnenstad van ons mooie Culemborg.

The Brew is afkomstig van Grimsby (Groot-Brittannië) en is een van de meest opwindende en besproken bands van deze tijd. De 19-jarige Jason Barwick wordt nu al vergeleken met Hendrix en Jimmy Page. Samen met zijn vriend Kurtis Smith (20 jaar), ook wel “The Bruce Lee of the Drum Kit” genoemd, hebben ze een nieuw hoofdstuk toegevoegd aan de Britse rockgeschiedenis. Duidelijk beïnvloed door de muziek uit de jaren ’60 en ’70, hebben ze een nieuw genre gecreëerd, daarbij bijgestaan door het derde lid van de band zanger en basgitarist Tim Smith (vader van Kurtis).

Ze hebben intensief en succesvol getoerd door Europa en daarbij een spectaculaire live reputatie opgebouwd. Dit heeft ze een uitnodiging opgeleverd voor ‘Rockpalast’ in Duitsland. Zowel de optredens als ook het album ‘The Joker’ krijgen lovende recenties. Ze worden met ’s werelds grootste bands en artiesten vergeleken, zoals Hendrix, Page, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Roger Waters en Cream. In 2009 The Brew opens Culemborg Blues. The youngster from the UK manage to attract a great crowd. People are amazed: is it really that young man who plays the guitar and sings like that? It is like a dyed-in-the-wool artist is up their on stage. The public is amazed and enjoys the music. Therefore their comeback at Culemborg Blues is inevitable. Now it still can be done, because The Brew’s star is rising fast, so The Brew is about to outgrow Culemborg.

The Brew hails from Grimsby (Great-Britain) and is one of the most exiting and most discussed bands of this time. The 20 year old Jason Barwick is already compared to Hendrix and Jimmy Page. Together with his friend Kurtis Smith (21 years old), also known as ‘The Bruce Lee of the Drum Kit’, they added a new chapter to British rock history. Clearly influenced by the music of the sixties and seventies, they created a new genre. The youngsters are accompanied by singer and bassist Tim Smith (the father of Kurtis).
