De echte bluesrock fijnproevers kunnen bij Lance Lopez hun hart ophalen. De Amerikaanse gitarist Lance Lopez groeide op in een gitaarcultuur van Van Halen en AC/DC. Samen met zijn schoolkameraad Kenny Wayne Shepherd bleef Lance trouw aan de blues en rock 'n' roll. Vanaf het moment dat zijn familie van Shreveport, Louisiana naar New Orleans, 'the city of music' verhuisde begon de toen 14 jarige Lopez te spelen in lokale bars.

Op zijn 17e verhuisde Lance terug naar Dallas waar hij ontdekt werd door soul legende Johnny Taylor, die hem onmiddellijk inhuurde voor een tour van een half jaar waarin hij in aanraking kwam met oudere muzikanten als Bobby Blue, Johnny Guitar Watson, Little Milton, Marvin Sease, en Bobby Rush. Al deze invloeden vormden Lance Lopez tot een veelzijdige gitarist, die alle kanten van de blues laat horen.

Op zijn 21e ging hij spelen voor de Buddy Miles Express, en kwam onder leiding van Buddy Miles en Jay Newland in 1998 zijn debuut cd “First Things First” uit, waarmee hij in Europa hoge ogen gooide. Vanaf die tijd raakte Lopez carrière in een stroomversnelling en formeert hij in 2000 zijn eigen band, en deelt hij het podium met bekende artiesten als Steve Vai, Jeff Beck, BB King, Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepperd, ZZ Top, Whitesnake en Def Leppard, en vertoeft hij met enige regelmaat in Europa.

The real blues rock lovers can eat their heart out with Lance Lopez. The American guitarist Lance Lopez grew up in a guitar culture with Van Halen and AC/DC. Together with his school friend Kenny Wayne Shpherd Lance remained loyal to the blues and rock ‘n’ roll. From the moment his family moved from Shreveport, Louisiana to New Orleans, ‘the city of music’, the 14-year old Lance played in local bars.

When he was 17 he moved back to Dallas where he was discovered by soul legend Johnny Taylor, who immediately hired him for a half-year-tour where Lance Lopez got in touch with older musicians like Bobby Blue, Johnny Guitar Watson, Little Milton, Marvin Sease and Bobby Rush. All these influences made Lance Lopex the all-round guitarist he is.

At the age of 21 Lance Lopez began to play for the Buddy Miles Express and under guidance of Buddy Miles and Jay Newland he released his first album in 1998: ‘First Things First’. The album was highly appreciated in Europe. From that moment Lance Lopez’ career was accelerated and in 2000 he established his own band.
